Another Russian Army Hazing video
Well, what can I say about the hazing in the army in my country. I guess some "initiation" traditions are present in any army, navy, certain sports or even sometimes schools. Some of such practices possibly carry some symbolic value and signify passing into adulthood or becoming a part of a certain group. Some of these rituals, however, seem just out-right senseless and doubtfully carry anything but the senseless violence and a source of some sadistic form of entertainment for the utterly bored men who happen to be in a senior position to the ones being "intiated." I'd be curious to hear what other people think about this.

It doesn't mean much to treat soldiers like that as far as you can achieve a goal. The goal of an army is to win wars. The Russian army as the U.S. army can patrol their own countries and do police actions in 3rd world countries but wining wars they can't. There is no sense to judge these russian officers as the main goal is to have an army that wins wars , if this isn't anymore in the equation than treating people good or bad is as good as having good food or bad food in the armed services. both armies met their defeat against muslim countries as they could not win against the insurgents. point - whatever happened to the Russian army has nothing to do with treating soldiers as they do. the whole army is useless as they can't win wars - point made.

But it should be controlled so that it doesn't kill the trainee or make him handicapped.

The russian army is pathetic. They torture the kids instead of teaching them. Idiots. I served proudly in the US Army. Now that is a real, professional force. To all you clowns that think the russian army is better, face the facts. The chechens and the afghans were able to slaughter entire BATTALIONS of russian soldiers. Its all proven, its all on video. We fought chechens in Iraq, and the most we lost at one time was 19 men, and killed over a 100 of them. The russian army is completely incompetent

As a former United States Marine, I think hazing has its place. It's cruelty that has no place. Those of you who have never served will never know the truth of this.
Hazing is more of a, "let's see what you got little brother" type of thing. The senior's do it to their boots (juniors), it happened to me and I sure as hell give my young boots a hell of a time on a Thursday night. (Thursday is special in the Corp) So chill out all you cry babies, you can never break the brotherhood.
